Abstracts must be submitted in English.
Abstracts may be submitted for the in-person conference, the online program or both. Presenters may choose a preference of oral or poster presentation, but the organizing committee will make the decision about which presentations are included in each session.
There are no restrictions to the number of abstracts you may submit but you cannot submit the same abstract more than once. Please note that submitting more than one abstract and having both accepted may cause you to have a scheduling conflict and require you to choose one presentation over the other.
Your abstract will be reviewed and scored on the following criteria:
- Relevance: Subject matter is timely, pertains to attendees, and is appropriate to the theme.
- Usefulness: The presentation contributes to new knowledge, techniques or practice.
- Objective: The abstract clearly states what the audience can expect to learn from the presentation.
- Quality: Ideas are organized and presented in a clear and logical way.
Abstracts are limited to 2500 characters, including spaces but not including title, authors, or institutions. Graphics and tables are not permitted in the abstract. If selected for presentation, you will have the option to submit an extended abstract that may include graphics and tables. The presence of commercialism may result in the abstract being rejected from consideration.
Presenter Participation Guidelines
Presenters selected for the technical program must register for the conference and pay the presenter registration fee in order to participate in the event. All event participants traveling to Cartagena are responsible for covering their own transportation and lodging expenses, as well as any fees related to visas or medical tests required for travel.
AAPG does not have scholarship funding available to support presenter registration or travel expenses.
